Spring Clinic/Rules Discussion
The date and time for our annual spring training session have been set. Be sure to clear your calendars for Thursday, May 3, at 7:30 PM, as this event is not to be missed. We suggest that you come a bit early to try out the elegant new CYC ‘Harbor Bar’, but to so early that you become less able to absorb and retain all the information offered.
The discussion will concentrate on the rules situations that we deal with most often, namely at the starts, near weather marks (including port tack approaches inside the Zone!!), overlaps and room at leeward marks, etc. We are thrilled and lucky to have college sailing coaches Matt Lindblad (MIT) and Greg Wilkerson (BC) lead our discussion, as they are two of the most knowledgeable experts anywhere on these subjects. Bring all your toughest questions. You might find out that you were right about that top mark incident last year after all!
Registration is open for the East Coasts
The 2018 East Coasts will be hosted by the New
Bedford Yacht Club in Padanaram, MA. The venue will
be in Buzzards Bay, which is a great place to sail. For
MRA racers, the option of taking a series scoring bye for the June 23 MRA race will be available. Start making plans now! The Notice of Race, a list of current entries, and the registration process are all available on a regatta specific page at:
