Invitation to Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast
On Memorial Day morning stop by Jennifer and Steve Uhl’s for a hearty helping of homemade pancakes, coffee and orange juice before heading out to race. The fleet has many new members this year (Clapp, Raisides, Ramsden, Renney, Poynter, Tobin, etc.) and this is a great opportunity to meet your competitors and get a nourishing breakfast before the race. Just come by between 8:30 to 10:00 at 11 Doaks Lane in Marblehead.
Sailing Season Is Here!
The Spring Series races get underway this weekend and May 24. To print off the Sailing Instructions go to www.eycrc.org/2003_spr_od_nor_si.htm. The Thursday evening Twilight Series begins May 29 with the Rhodes starting at 6:42 PM. This is open to all Rhodes 19 sailors. Twilight races are held every Thursday evening through August 28, except Race Week Thursday.
Sailing in the Twilight Series is a relaxing way to end the day because we start at the Corinthian Yacht Club and there are no spinnakers. The racing is also fun for younger kids or others who might find Saturday racing overwhelming. After the race, sailors meet for a drink and a bite at CYC. If you haven’t experienced Twilight Racing, make a point of trying it this year, you’ll love it!
Rockport Awaits
The Sandy Bay Yacht Club and Fleet 36 are gearing up for a memorable East Coasts. The dates are June 13-15 and the Notice of Race and Entry Form can be found at www.rhodes19.org. Hope to see you there!
